Jade has been dancing since the age of two with the Dance Elite family. Her dance life began to take off at the age of 6 when she joined the competitive company. She has competed and earned scholarships and awards across several disciplines including Acro, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theatre, Ballet, and Hip Hop. Jade participated in yearly dance exams through the Canadian Dance Teacher’s Association (CDTA) achieving highest distinctions in jazz and ballet examinations. She is currently working towards completing her teaching examinations through the C.D.T.A. Jade has been an assistant teacher with Dance Elite for over 10 years. She is also a certified gymnastics coach. In 2006, Jade traveled to Germany as part of the Canadian National Dance Team and took home a medal with a routine choreographed by Marnie Palmer-Lang. Jade indicates that ‘dance has been my life’ and has continued to dance in University as an extra-curricular to her studies in Kinesiology and Psychology. She was Captain of the Wilfred Laurier Competitive Dance Team, which earned several cash scholarships at various University competitions; they were named the Champion Team at the Bust-A-Move University Dance Competition in both 2009 and 2010. Jade has also volunteered with various dance classes including Feel the Beat, a program run out of Laurier, and Dance Ability, the program that she has started with her sister, Mallory, at Dance Elite. Jade is currently completing a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy at the University of Toronto.
