BA (Hons), BATD
Marina’s love for dance began at the age of three. She trained extensively within Mississauga, Toronto and Woodbridge in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Modern and Hip Hop. She competed for years within Ontario and the United States, winning various awards, scholarships and overall standings for group and solo performances. Her passion for dance led her to attend Cawthra Park Secondary School where she attended the dance program and had the opportunity to work along side choreographers such as Frank Augustyn, Darryl Tracy, Linda Garneau and Shawn Byfield. She received her Regional Arts Dance Certificate and graduated with honours and also was presented with the Dance Recognition Award.
Marina performed and helped organize the first ever Peel Dance Showcase in 2005. Marina received her teaching qualifications in 2005 from the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (B.A.T.D). Marina has performed as a background dancer for Woodbridge Idol and has also performed at the Woodbridge Festival. She currently holds a Bachelor of Social Work with Honours degree and is working towards her Bachelor of Education. Her education and dance experiences thus far has helped her understand child development, behaviour and the learning process, which allows her to effectively communicate and connect with her students while teaching exciting and new
choreography. Marina has taught students of all ages and is dedicated to working hard with innovative ideas and strives to bring out the best in her students, with a strong focus teaching technique, style, confidence and teamwork. Marina’s enthusiasm and passion for dance is carried on through her teaching and she looks forward to another successful year with Dance Elite.
